10th May 1940: Germany invades Belgium, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
13th June 1940: Paris occupied by German troops.
25th June: France surrenders to Germany. France is divided into the occupied north and the French Vichy government in the south.
August 1941: Drancy Internment and Transit Camp opened in Paris.
1942: Deportations of Jews from Drancy begins.
